Carpet Installation Checklist Dubai

A useful carpet installation checklist for Dubai records the rooms, measurements, existing floor, selected carpet system, edge details, furniture and building access before fitting is booked. It helps expose missing information without pretending every substrate condition can be known before removal.

What to prepare before carpet fitting

Start with a room schedule that identifies each area, intended use and existing finish. Add dimensions, photographs, door and threshold details, stairs, floor boxes and the adjoining finishes. Then attach the selected carpet reference and installation information if a product has already been chosen.

Do not mark the floor “ready” solely because it looks level through the old finish. Removal, surface cleaning and a documented inspection may still be required before the final preparation method is confirmed.

  • Rooms, use, dimensions and layout drawings
  • Existing finish and visible substrate information
  • Carpet, tile, underlay, adhesive and trim references
  • Furniture, access, lifts and working-hour constraints
  • Doors, skirting, thresholds and service-access interfaces

Carpet preparation FAQ

01Should furniture be removed before carpet installation?

The agreed fitting zones should be clear or have a documented phased-movement plan. Large or sensitive items, responsibility for movement and temporary storage should be resolved before installation day.

02When is the subfloor finally assessed?

Visible conditions can be reviewed during the survey, but the full surface is normally confirmed after the agreed existing finish and residue are removed.

03Do Dubai buildings require a work permit for carpet replacement?

Requirements differ by property and scope. Ask the owner, landlord or building manager about approvals, access, work hours, protection and waste removal before scheduling.

Start with the space, then define the next decision.
