Apartment Renovation Timeline Dubai
Apartment renovation timing depends on the tower as well as the rooms. Review permission, lift access, work hours and storage with the building before treating a site start or delivery date as confirmed.
The building programme and the unit programme
Put these requirements on the programme as activities with named contacts. A calendar that only shows work inside the apartment misses part of the project.
| Decision | Building requirement | Work it can affect |
|---|---|---|
| Permission and registration | Accepted submission and approved contractor access. | Starting site work and mobilising the trades. |
| Lift and loading slots | Booked routes for deliveries and waste. | Material quantities arriving per day and the pace of removal. |
| Working hours | Permitted windows for noisy work and general access. | How many activities can be completed in one site day. |
| Storage and protection | Agreed holding areas and protected common routes. | Whether products arrive together or in smaller batches. |
Sequence the work inside the unit
- 01
Survey and coordinate
Confirm layout and service changes, then prepare the building submission. Select appliances and fixtures early enough to establish their connections and openings.
- 02
Order and prepare
Check delivery dates for products and custom items. Identify which dimensions can be approved now and which require measurement after removal.
- 03
Strip out and inspect
Protect retained areas, remove the agreed work and inspect concealed conditions. Update the scope and drawings before proceeding if those findings change the design.
- 04
First fix and wet areas
Complete plumbing, electrical and relevant service work. Keep testing, waterproofing and product curing requirements visible before covering them.
- 05
Install and commission
Fit finishes, cabinetry and products in their required sequence. Test connections and operation, complete snag corrections and close the building file.
Make occupation a programme decision
If you plan to stay, identify the bathroom, cooking provision and route that remain usable in each phase. Agree isolation windows for water or power and how the work area is secured and cleaned. Some scopes cannot maintain the facilities or separation you need, so settle the occupation arrangement before mobilisation.
Ask the contractor for the next decisions and deliveries at each progress meeting. Late product selections and missed lift slots can affect multiple trades. When a date moves, update the building bookings and temporary accommodation or move-in plan at the same time; the revised site programme should support those decisions.
Test a delivery against the building and the work stage
Before confirming a large delivery, run the route and installation prerequisites through the building contact, supplier and site supervisor together.
- 01
Route
Check loading access, lift and doorway limits using the item’s actual packed dimensions. Resolve any handling or fabrication implications with the supplier before dispatch.
- 02
Site readiness
Confirm that the receiving area is protected and that preceding work has reached the stage the supplier needs. Do not fill an unfinished work zone with products that prevent trades from completing it.
- 03
Booking and fallback
Agree the lift slot, unloading responsibility and permitted storage. If access changes, establish who reschedules transport and installation so the supplier does not arrive with no usable route or receiving area.
